As of 24th January 2016, I decided to release my music under the creative commons license. This means you can use my music in your videos on youtube. All I ask is a return link in the description. This means many of my older popular tracks are going to be uploaded and available to you for download.
So you are allowed to;
- Share – copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the material.
- For any purpose, even commercially.
Eg; you may use in videos that make money, ie; movies or DVD’s, that you sell. Including youtube.
- The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
- You must provide a link back to original source file. ie; www.wackywoodworks.co.nz/music/songs.php
Under the following terms:
- Attribution – You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
You are not allowed to;
- Sell any of the original works.
- You must not say it is your works and must give credit to the original writer.
- You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
Sample description link for youtube could be

Why am I doing this?
My woodworking youtube channel video’s requires background music to make it a little more fun and enjoyable to watch… I have had comments on my music in the past. Other creators that do not have a budget or are not musically minded struggle with getting music on their channel. While there are other royalty free music sites out there on the interweb, many are a paid service so the site can pay the musician etc. All the music that I release I have full rights to as it is written, and produced by me. It is an area where I can help my creator friends.
It will take a while to get this all sorted and I not 100% sure how I am going to do this as of yet. I do not want to use the hosting of the various audio sites as the quality is not as good as it can be, and most are limited to how much you can upload, or you have to become a member of the site so you can download… I don’t want that, so I have decided some how to host it on my own website here are Wacky Wood Works, however on the flip side of that file size and number of downloads if i am hosting myself may become a strain on my server host.
