Yes, but I was not a trade cert or a fully qualified builder but only a trade hand with first assessment qualifications. This was back in 1992 after I left the RNZN. Though I know a few tricks from this. Building a house is not doing fine woodworking/joinery/cabinet/furniture making they are a completely different skills although it helped in various areas.

With the building experience though, I must admit has helped on a various other projects.
