Here is a nice simple project any one can do. It can easily be made with just hand tools as well. You will have to get your own dimensions as every coaster set is a different size.<\/p>\n

Find a bit of scrap wood and cut out a square. While I used the table saw you could easy cut with a hand saw.<\/p><\/div>\n

Drill in the four holes. Use bit of tape so we roughly get 10mm deep on all four holes.<\/p><\/div>\n

Use chisel to clean out holes. I have also used a round over bit on the router to round over the edges on both sides. If you don’t have a router then you could just sand or bevel plan it.
Then sand the entire block.<\/p><\/div>\n

Measure height of stacked coasters, add 10mm for the hole plus an extra 5mm for margin. Cut dowel rod using a saw. You will want to do this with a fine tooth saw if you only have a cross cut saw try a hack saw.<\/p><\/div>\n

Use grinder to quickly smooth the cut and put slight bevel on the dowel. Again if you don’t have a grinder or sander then just hand sanding will be fine.<\/p><\/div>\n

Glue dowel in to our pre made holes.<\/p><\/div>\n

Add the coasters to the coaster holder… and done. This took about 20 minutes to make and 10 minutes of that was finding the right bit of scrap wood.
